Empire State premise contains an interesting true story, but plays out in a predictable fashion you've seen too many times before. Liam Hemsworth couldn't carry the film with his uninspired performance making things more dull to sit through.

Any film that constraints the energy Dwayne Johnson can bring into a table is clearly doing something wrong. Lastly the director lack of ambition to do more with the material proving some true stories are left untold on the big screen.
