Review of Empire Records (1995) by Russell G — 04 Jan 2012

It is a mid-90's movie that catches the teenage spirit of the time well and shows life in a record store in a changing music industry. Some diverse music loving friends fight to keep a one of a kind record store from selling out to a corporate abomination while struggling to fight their inner-teen demons.

It has good energy, a lively cast, and seems fun, but the movie does not have any direction or purpose. Regrettably the characters have no degree of resolution and the movie has relatively no change for their characters.
