I was pleasantly surprised by Empire Records, the whole thing sounds like it's made for the type of person I am and it nailed it on the head considering I had no idea what to expect, I also didn't know it was made in the 1990s beforehand, which makes it even better for nostalgic reasons.

The story is as simple as something that could have been an episode of a TV sitcom, and is something i've seen before but the characters were so enjoyable and the soundtrack so great as well as the set design and costumes that it wasn't such a big deal.

I really liked Empire Records and I recommend it for teens and adults that never really got over the coming of age hurdle. There are some parts of the movie that are a bit stupid and the way they cast off Debra's mental unstable mood seems a little weird, I mean she's just lobbed her hair off and self harmed and you're just letting her stay and work at the store? WHAT? Perhaps that was better for her than being alone at home, I don't know.
