Review of Empire of the Sun (1987) by Pa C — 03 Nov 2008
This movie apparently didn't do all that well at the box office (I wouldn't know considering I was 7 when it came out), but I recently discovered the film based on a friends recommendation. An amazing movie.
..greating acting and very good effects to make you feel like you really are in China back in the 1940's. Story follows civilians through a war zone vs. Speilburgs more recent movies that focus more on the soldiers (Private Ryan/Band of Brothers.
..also excellent but very different). This is a must see...but you really have to be in the right mood for this kind of movie.
