Review of Empire of the Sun (1987) by Annelies S — 23 Jan 2009
This movie goes too slow and is way too long. One of the worst movies Steven Spielberg has directed. The appearance of John bloody Malkovich didn't bring my irritation level down either. Christian Bale on the other hand was a fresh young and promising actor by playing the so irritable spoilt kid Jamie.
He did it so well I'd really wanted to kick his arse a few times. Brilliant performance. But Malkovich brought the level down, as usual. Worthless prick.
