Review of Empire of the Sun (1987) by Gavin C — 25 Jun 2009
A film that explore delicate human emotions. It touches upon the complicated feelings when one faces wartimes. Through the eyes of a child who can hardly define what nationalism is, the film shows how enemies become friends, countrymen betray each other, and chaos.
One thing weird is that Bail barely grew after his years in the POW camp. I'm sure Spielberg tried his best to make it seem like he did.
