Review of Empire of the Sun (1987) by Mark M — 23 Aug 2009

Seeing Christian Bale as a young kid was kind of weird, but you know he was a great little actor then and now he has turned out to be one of Hollywood's finest. Great film and directed masterfully by good old reliable Spielberg.

I thought that this film had some absolute brilliant moments sprinkled with a few moments that just didn't work for me (call it over-dramatization), but overall a powerful film that is quite unforgettable.
