Review of Empire of the Sun (1987) by Tom S — 01 Oct 2013
A Spielberg's Masterpiece. An innocent young boy named Jim ( played by Christian Bale)who witness the tragedy and separated from his parents after the Japanese invasion in Shanghai during World War II.
Fave scene:
* he touches the real plane because he always wanted to see a big one not just a toy that he used to play with..
*jim chasing by the Japanese because he left the barracks.. but he was helped by the Japanese boy and eventually they became friends .
* Jim's craving for something to eat. and all dying of hunger.
A scene that il never ever forget. =D.
Wonderful cinematography.
I didn't expect much when I decided to watch that film.. The fact was I kept on talking to myself that it is one of a war film garbage something like that. But whoa it was a Blast. Beautiful war scene... explosives and effects are stunning. Excellent kind of work.
