Review of Emma Smith: My Story (2008) by Douglas F — 01 Mar 2009
20090301 I watched it again today. Strength we gain day by day rather given once as gift from God. I like it the more I see it. And the revelation on plural marriage surely tested the faith of many LDS memories. We have been tested before and will be tested again. We will endure as we gain strength. And let not our fear drown out our faith: wonderful message from the movie.
200901 apx I watched it for the 2nd time yesterday with my daughters over but moving about the house, playing with the cats and apple crumble. Yes, making apple crisp, I felt a prompting to put the movie on after listening to instrumental hymns. Making dessert and watching this movie go together: wholesome and uplifting both of them. I liked the movie more this time watching it. The first time I was very focused on scanning Joanie's photo collection from her Mom so this time I was more focused. I sat down for the final part of the movie. A good movie is just that: on in the background and you feel comforted by the dialogue, the topics and the spirit of the movie.
