Review of Emelie (2016) by Leftzer0 — 14 Feb 2017
This is a goreless gore movie. Instead of the butcher, we have a completely insane babysitter who has no motivation for her actions beyond being completely insane. Instead of the gore, we have a babysitter doing child abuse.
The effect is the same: cheap and nonsensical disturbing and disgusting scenes for cheap thrills. Except these have less of a justification than mosy gore movies, and that's saying something. All technical aspects are OK (with a special mention to the surprisingly good child actors), but can't save the premise and the plot.
If you like your movies being something more than a loosely connected series of exploitative and gratuitous disturbing scenes, stay away.
