Review of Elysium (2013) by Serge L — 18 Apr 2015
Very good effects from the same guys that brought District 9, a different sci-fi with a humalien sensitivity. Here, it is more americanos. Maybe even more french monarchy before the revolution. The safety director of the large and advanced space station is a racist bitch that despise the earthlings and do not hesitate to shoot them down when they try to "visit".
She runs into trouble with the station's directors but has a plan. Meanwhile on earth, our hero get a deadly dose of radioactivity which makes him desperate to go to Elysium (the space station) and receive their advanced health care.
It is definetly another fight for freedom and shoot the bad guys kind of film. Well constructed and a charming evil villain makes the adventure better than average. Of course, you have to buy the premise.
All good special effects and acting. Free access to health care for earthlings!
