Review of Elvira: Mistress of the Dark (1988) by Christian G — 01 Aug 2008
This was an interesting film that I actually viewed when I was a young child. Though some parts of the film were a little confusing, and to an extent, adult-targeted, I still had fun watching it. I didn't know much about the franchise when I first saw it, and still don't know much about it, but I do believe this film did represent an old 80s culture that I enjoyed so much.
I was born in the 80s, so that was why. Somehow I felt 80s culture was more weird and outrageous than now. But anymore, the film's story and plot was a little rough for me, but what do you expect from this apparent cheesy-comedy? Nothing much in terms of great acting, great plot, etc.
This film should not be taken seriously. It was probably for entertainment and amusement. And in the end, it worked. I was entertained and I was amused.
