No one who ever read the book "Ella Enchanted" could ever give this movie even a half-decent rating. It takes what was a fairly serious, emotionally engaging story about hardship and inner strength and turned it into a rhymey, sing-song, slapstick-humored bastardization with extra made-up characters and a completely invented plot that was most definitely NOT based on anything from the book.
Such a disappointment. If you've read the book and not seen the movie, DON'T.
