Review of Elizabethtown (2005) by Emelie B — 13 Apr 2011
Pieces, this movie is a mixture of ill-fitting pieces of events all trying to come together but not actually making any image of true import and leaving one wondering "what the hell is this supposed to be about?" Bloom's performance is lacking and Dunst's portrayal is not charming or quirky, she's an annoying stalker.
The story, with all its random sentimentality, is a tangle of subplots meandering around spotty back stories and soulless characters. The only thing impressed upon me was the urge to travel cross country.
..as far away from this movie as I can get.
