Review of Elizabethtown (2005) by Missy W — 03 May 2012
Elizabethtown lacks focus, undecided whether to be a road trip movie or family tragedy or romantic comedy or self discovery journey. By jumping from one theme to another, the movie moves at an uneven pace, that is difficult to follow. Just when it is enjoyable to watch and on the brink to soar, director Cameron Crowe suddenly decides to stretch those scenes till they become redundant, causing it to drop down to a spat. This happens frequent enough to make one suspect that it may be a deliberate move or a bad choice.
Kirsten Dunst is in top form. Never was she such adorable, natural and full of charm. Who won't fall in love with her at first sight?
