Review of Elizabethtown (2005) by Dann M — 26 Mar 2013
Charming and fun, Elizabethtown is a romantic comedy from writer/director Cameron Crowe. The story follows a failed product designer who returns to his family's hometown in order to make funeral arrangements for his father, but when the stress gets to him he turns to a strange airline stewardess for her sage like advice.
The characters aren't developed very well, and the film doesn't seem to have a clear direction. Yet Orlando Bloom and Kirsten Dunst have enough charisma to overcome the weaknesses in the script.
Elizabethtown has some issues, but it's entertaining and has a good heart.
