Review of Elizabeth: The Golden Age (2007) by Lovely L — 12 Jun 2009
This movie was a good sequel to the first, but it just did not have that je ne ce que that the first movie did. Aside from some good scenes and good acting by the cast, and again nice costume and setting, the plot was weak at best. I know it was history, but it could have been much better presented. Blanchett did not seem to capture Elizabeth as well in this movie as she did in the first.
If you enjoyed the first movie, watch this follow-up. If you are going to watch one though, do your self a favour and watch the first. This movie holds up the cliche that sequels are never as good as the original.
