I was really looking forward to this, as I've admired Elizabeth I all my life and love to read or watch anything about her. I was disappointed, though I really can't figure out why. It was beautifully filmed and the costumes etc.
were well-done. Maybe the characters - they all felt flat. I waited to feel suspense, drama, sorrow, joy, anything, but didn't. Even Cate wasn't what I usually expect from her. I kept thinking, I'd rather be watching LOTR again.
Did anyone else out there like this movie? Did I just have a bad day?
