Review of Elizabeth: The Golden Age (2007) by Tom R — 27 Jul 2010
I did not see the first film. I do not know if that would have helped with my ability to follow the storyline or not. Since I know little about England's history, there were some questions that I had from watching this film. I had to Google them.
This was a good film. At about an hour into the film, it seemed longer than it actually was. Time seemed to slowly drag on, for about a half an hour or so. The last 20 minutes or so were spectacular. I was impressed by the short but breathtaking underwater scenes.
The costumes were gorgeous. Some of Queen Elizabeth's outfits were over the top. Her style that was so outrageous.
This was a good film, but far from great.
