Review of Elizabeth: The Golden Age (2007) by Erica S — 19 Jun 2012
In my personal opinion, this movie though impressed in the dramatic side, it didnâ(TM)t provide enough true evidence for a biopic on her life. Sir Walter Raleigh hadnâ(TM)t gone into war with the Spain.
Mary, Queen of Scots, was not originally part of the Babington Conspiracy. Willingham, who wanted her executed, got one of the conspirators to act as a double agent, and entrap her, not the Spanish. Over-indulgent and melodramatic, as is the nature of artistic mythmaking.
