Review of Elizabeth: The Golden Age (2007) by Peter A — 23 May 2013
The sequel pales greatly in comparison to the original, mostly because it seems to lack a point other than parading historical figures and events around as a drama. Cate Blanchett remains solid as Elizabeth, and Clive Owen was definitely the most interesting character in the film.
This movie probably would have been better as a series or mini-series on a premiere cable network, something akin to The Tudors.
