Continuing the adventures of the BOPE officers (aka 'skulls') on the streets of Rio, this sequel to Elite Squad sees Nascimento given a new position as assistant to the Secretary of Intelligence after a disastrous stand off in the local prison.
He soon finds himself embroiled in a conflict between unscrupulous politicians, dirty cops and his former colleagues at BOPE. This is an archetypal 'world cinema' crime thriller, passionate and gritty, a world away from the direct to DVD stuff that Hollywood puts out.
If you liked the first film you'll be happy to spend more time with these characters.
