Review of Elite Squad: The Enemy Within (2010) by Brian M — 21 Sep 2012
Elite Squad: The enemy within. This was most certainly one of the better crime dramas I have seen in a while. One thing that I found to be discerning was that the film follows absolutely no formula. Overall this feels one part City of God, however it transcends this and becomes something much more focused.
The level of violence here is nearly overwhelming, but it somehow never really feels gratuitous, and its always necessary to drive home part of the films point; that violence evokes a sense of nihilism at first glance, but is all the more atrocious when carried out by forces that see its consequences.
