The Enemy Within presents development in certain areas ahead of its predecessor such as much more gripping action direction and a better rounded story however at the loss of some of the more, almost nightmarish suspense of the first film where extreme poverty and claustrophobic imagery were used to skilfully smother the audience in a brutal atmosphere.
