Thrilling film told from the viewpoint of an officer in the Brazilian Elite Police Squad (BOPE). The film comically exposes the corruption that maintains the delicate power balance between police and heavily armed drug lords in Rio's favelas.
On the one hand the film glamourises the brutal above-the-law BOPE, but on the other highlights the reality for normal people caught in the crossfire of the "war on drugs".
