Review of Elite Squad (2007) by Lucas P — 18 Jun 2012
The most of the Brazilian movies dedicated theirselfs to make a huge critic to the brazilian society, and they are very good on this, but they often make boring movies or sometimes, "a critic that is more real than the reality" (actually I am not sure that this will make sense in english). What I am trying to say that some times the critics are too high and intense that the movies actually deform the reality: in some of them the brazilian people is a great victim, almost an useless or "action-less" victim, of the government or in others, is a villain.
There are a very few movies that really dedicate to show how the brazilian people lives with such a disastrous society and power structure as we have here, Tropa de Elite is one of them. The most critics, even in Brazil, say that the movie emphasize soo much in corruption, but this is the way that the brazilians have to get to live with an inoperative law system for a really full of troubles society as ours.
There are another interesting point that is a very enjoyable movie with its action scenes and jokes, these are really near for brazilians that the ones we saw in foreign movies.
