Review of Elf (2003) by Deven W — 21 Dec 2013
Will Ferrell is a human who happens to get left with elves and grows up being the first human elf. He's bigger than everyone but doesn't have any of the magic or special abilities like the other elves.
He eventually finds out he has a father in New York and tries to go see him. However, his father didn't know he had a son and has a family of his own with a different mother. There's a lot of comedy from the 'person out of their element' type stuff.
There is a useless romance with Zooey Deschanel which I think is probably the only thing that doesn't quite work and feels unneeded. Hilarious cameo from Peter Dinklage as a cocky kid's writer.
Still holds up after all these years.
