Easily the best of the pure Christmas comedies, "Elf" succeeds not only on the strength of Will Ferrell's performance and the uproarious humor, but from an endearing and diverse cast of characters allowed to breathe and thrive in a clever plot filled with heart.
One of the three Christmas films I make sure watch every year.
