Review of Elephant (2015) by Luis Angel G — 14 Jan 2009
Despite having a serious lack of elephants, I found this to be Gus Van Sant's best movie to date. The dark twisted themes stay with you long after the credits roll, all of the actors were great and their dialogue felt realistic, the tracking shots used throughout the film let you see several different events from the perspective of other students, it doesn't run too long, and the film ends on a perfectly simplistic note.
I'd recommend it to people looking for a film to analyze beyond just what can be seen, but it's also the type of movie that everyone will feel differently towards.
