Review of Elephant (2015) by Andrew D — 08 Mar 2009
A realistic portrayal of a tragic day of high school. The actors are unknowns, and the same scenes are shown from several angles and different points of view. The cinematography is wonderful many shots have the camera rotate entirely around the subject, furthering the feel that this is real life. The sound and music are equally impressive. It does sustain a mood of dread throughout until the violent climax. It's hypnotic, breathtaking, powerful, and audacious. It puts a face on the victims. Be warned, it has no plot and the endless shots can be tedious and patience testing.
7.5/10.
