Review of Elephant (2015) by Pete L — 10 Dec 2010
Pretentious drivel. The excruciating long glacial tracking shots, the use of real high school students, the lack of linear narrative plotting, all of the elements of the tragically hip "serious" film exist in this pretentious pile of crap.
Instead of weaving a story, Van Sant slaps together a string of indie film clichés and pseudo intellectuals lap it up. Unfortunately the emperor has no clothes in this case and if you think you enjoyed it you're mistaken.
