Review of Elephant (1993) by Chris K — 19 Feb 2009
It seems Gus Van Sant absolutely hates this device called a story, instead he prefers to just steadicam-track with actors for long unnecessary takes. Elephant, had absolutely no plot or character development, it might as well been a documentary.
But, despite its panorama of flaws, I liked it alot. Although the shallow depth of field gave me a headache 20mins in, I still loved the way it was shot. Very good music as well. The acting is shit and so is the dialogue, but, if your into Van Sant or the Columbine shootings I would recommend it.
