Review of Elephant (1993) by Chelsea D — 27 Jul 2010
The only brilliance to this film is that it leaves the viewer as frustrated and lost as parents are when something like this occurs in real life. The pace is slow and the camera shots beautifully pointless.
The film tries too hard to be poignant but by only offering frustration it falls ridiculously short. Anyone can make a film that shows something terrible in a beautiful way. Avoiding the issue makes this movie a sad attempt at something special.
