Review of Elena and Her Men (1956) by Will M — 05 Jan 2009
Badly paced, stiffly acted. There are plenty of nice moments, but the feel is decidedly artificial -- and not in a way that commands artifice. Bergman, though beautiful and poised, seems like she's on qualudes.
The drunken parade scene is the most charming bit.
