Review of Elemental (2023) by Fatherofnoah — 28 Jun 2023
Brilliant movie and we loved it! Yes, the movie meanders here and there, but the beautiful love story - I can identify as I married someone from a completely different religion from my own - is so disarmingly innocent and sweet that it caught me off guard in a completely good way.
Wonderful colors, scenery, ingenious setting, and just an absolute instructive masterclass on love and civility and the need to remember we’re a helluva lot more similar than different. This movie is not meant for the dull witted, cynical, unintelligent or hateful bozo.
However, if you have a heartbeat, believe in love, are an optimist and truly understand that the world can be a better place - provided everyone tries! - then this movie, which will age like a fine Pixar wine, is for you.
Well done, Pixar, and please don’t let the hate filled dweebs still living and hate-clicking from mommy’s basement ruin what is, in every sense of the word, a masterpiece.
