Review of Elemental (2023) by Jessica-Jones — 22 Jun 2023
I'd been waiting for this movie for a long time and it did not disappoint. The A and B plots tied together nicely and neither felt forced. The romance was sweet and the characters were relatable. The pacing was excellent.
The animation is where the film stood out most though. The movie is absolutely gorgeous. The characters in Elemental, being made of elements and not completely solid, bend and warp in ways that feel very natural for their respective elements and wouldn't have been as easy to model and animate as human or animal characters, who are far more rigid in comparison.
Over all, the film is outstanding. I would definitely recommend watching it.
