Review of Elektra (2013) by Brendan C — 12 Dec 2012
Jennifer Garner plays the best Heroine Ever in this Blazing Comic Book movie that's been frequently put down by critics who appearently are fans of the horrible mess known as Howard The Duck and probably waiting for a Criterion release of the 1991 version of Captain America .
Elektra is really great to watch with great cinemtography, great action, and a superb performance by Garner, despite some abrupt cuts. While it may not the greatest film ever, but it does succeed in many things that many female superheroine movies have failed miserably, which is a good story (which I admit is later recycled in other films before and after, including Ghost Rider: Spirit Of Vengeance) , a good cast, and some good chemisty (between Garner and Kirsten Prout ("Abby")) and credibility that's actually worth watching.
Look out for Terrance Stamp (General Zod, "Superman I & II") in a small role as Garner's mentor named Stick. And no, I'm not crazy.
