Elektra is a spinoff of Daredevil focusing on the sexy character of the same name (played by Jennifer Garner), who is brought back to life after seemingly dying at the hands of Bullseye in the previous film. However, this movie has no other connections to that movie. Elektra becomes an assassin for hire (odd considering how an assassin for hire killed her father and, later, her). She soon has a change-of-heart when she's ordered to kill a father and young daughter. This angers the head of the assassin for hire bureau who sends even more assassins for hire to assassinate (for hire) Elektra. One of them has tattoos of animals that come to life, and another, resemblind Lady Deathstrike from X-Men, wilts plants as she passes by. Ho-hum. The fight scenes are filmed in what must be called confuso-vision because there is no central focus on any aspect of it - the scenes jump around more than if Michael Bay directed it on speed, ritalin, and crack. The problem with Elektra is, while the far-worse Punisher: War Zone does not even give you a flicker of hope for it to be good, this one actually tried to market itself as a decent comic adaptation. Shame on you, Jennifer Garner (though she is all that saves this from a straight D).

My rating: D+ / 1 star.

Ranking out of Marvel Comics movies: 19 out of 20.
