Review of Elektra (2005) by Julian T — 08 Dec 2011
If it were not for 'Catwoman' and 'Batman and Robin', this might be the worst major comic book production ever. As it is, I'll put it on par with X3, The Fantastic Four and Ghost Rider.
First of all, Elektra died in 'Daredevil'. They try to BS some lame excuse, but right from the get go your saying 'Yeah f*cking right'. They would have been far better off just not saying anything and hoping you forgot about her previous death.
The story line is ridiculous. One of those stories that was hokey even in the comic books. The script, acting and direction are all quite sub standard. The effects are ok, as are the action scenes. Garner does her best with the role, at least trying to salvage her character.
It was nice to at least see the classic Frank Miller version of Elektra and not the bastardized 'Daredevil' version of the costume. Anyway, this is pretty awful. Especially avoid if you're a fan of the comics, because its lack of regard will make you either furioius or slightly depressed.
