Review of Elektra (1994) by Lee B — 03 Oct 2009
The first thing you should do is ask yourself why you would want to watch a seprequel to Daredevil. Then you should realize that gouging your eyeballs out with a hot poker is a better sentence than watching this hole of a fim.
Jennifer Garner learns nothing from her future husband Ben Affleck about making stupid movies. Elektra is just that: Mindnumbingly dumb. Taking very little from the original Marvel Epic print character we're left to wonder if the makers of this film were inspired by Madhouse studio's "Ninja Scroll" as many of the ninjas (agents of The Hand), who happen to have mutant like powers appear to be horribly executed rip offs.
Unnecessary slow motion, bad choreography and criminal amounts of very bad dialogue punctuate this film only mitigated by the appearance of Shang Tsung himself, Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa. I don't know what the producers were thinking when they came up with this film.
Maybe it was, "Hey guys, let's do Mortal Kombat for chicks!".
