Review of Electric Apricot (2007) by Henri L — 19 Apr 2009
This mockumentary will be a huge sucess with a lot of Primus fans who like the twisted humour of Les Claypole. It is in the weird vein that you would know from the world of Primus and the charcters are all spot on and the acting is surprisingly good - especially from Les himself.
But despite terrible hangovers and the need for sillyness I did not laugh as much as expected. There are memorable moments - especially a scene with Badass Warren Haynes at the Festeroo Festival is hilarious - but at the end of the day there is a long way up to the original and funny world of Spinal Tap.
It is not terrible but the overall laughing credibility of the picture is just not good enough. For geeks and nerds only.
