Review of Election (2005) by Brianne I — 23 Aug 2008
I give Election 4 stars. It follows the lives of four of the main characters; Tracy Flick(Reese Witherspoon), and her struggle to become the next Student Government President; Paul Metzler(Chris Klien), and his battle to beat Tracy in the school elections; Tammy Metzler(Jessica Campbell)(Pauls sister) raging out towards the school trying to get suspended, and trying to figure out her sexuality; and finally Mr.
Jim McAllistar(Matthew Broderick) trying to deal with school life as well as his personal. This movie I think, was a great movie. It was one of those movies where yu kinda want to turn it off, but yu also wanna see how it ends.
I was really taken in by Tracy's eagerness to win it all. I really admired her for that. Mr. McAllistar though, is one of those characters that bad things happen to and you feel really bad for. He cheats on his wife, and get sort of, "i need anger management" in a way.
But in the end everything turns out fine and everyone ends up where they want to be. All in all I'd recommend this movie for anyone who likes light comedy and narration.
