Review of Election (2005) by Anthony K — 11 Jan 2015
Smart, clever, and outgoing. These same characteristics also exist within Reese Witherspoon's character Tracy Flick. Those same characteristics cause Matthew Broderick's character Jim McAllister to slowly go mad.
This is a film about all of humanities worst vices; set in a simple Omaha high school. It reminds us of what really matters in life and to beware those human urges that can lead us astray. Mr. Payne asks important questions about life in this film all while keeping a satirical tone, making this a fun ride for those who simply enjoy a well crafted script, as well as those looking for more depth from their film viewing experiences.
