Review of Election (1999) by Costas T — 21 Mar 2008
Dark and seedy comedy that paints a villain of somebody just trying their hardest and a hero of a bitter and twisted teacher. The balance between morality and ethics is very skewed as is the point. The internal monologues are funny and enlightening and the whole film has a feel good effect despite dealing with peoples downfalls.
Finger always on the pulse with biting wit Payne has developed his skills over the years and Election still stands out.
