Review of El Topo (1970) by Kevin M — 04 Mar 2008
Inscrutable psuedo-Western arrived at just the right time to capture the 60s zeitgeist with its combination of brutality, Zen buddhism, the Old Testament, psychedelia, and even mime. Unfolds like a dream, making up its own illogical rules as it goes.
Quite excellent but you must be in a certain frame of mind to fully enjoy.
