Review of El Topo (1970) by Brendan O — 28 Aug 2008
Zen and Bullets in a Western Backdrop. El topo, first off is an unique allegory for religion in general. Its strange, arguably the strangest, its surrealist imagery are heavily, themes of redemption, lost and journey.
Ok, this film is not for everyone, you only know that after actually seeing it, as for me, watching this was a very bizarre journey for me.
