Review of El Norte (1983) by Ivonne K — 18 Feb 2009
Here we have a film that talks about the travel of two young guatemalian sibilings to the USA. A pretty good made movie, with an excelent photography, kind of "poetic" screenplay that by moments reminds me that idelization of the image of the native mexican indians during the 50´s plus the common resource of using candles...
The value of this movie is the introduction to the audience, to the cross and the danger, cultural shock and the meanings of living the hometown in the way to reach the "American dream".
A pretty nice movie.
