Man, I love this movie. Stylish and quirky, with Robert Rodriguez's personal directorial stamp already firmly in place. It's incredibly low-budget means that there's some bad acting now and then (though Gallardo in the title role is perfect), but the hardly matters when he shines so perfectly behind the camera.
Much better than the slicker (and more soulless) "remake", DESPERADO.
