Made in 1992 on a budget of $7,000, "El Mariachi" is a landmark in extremely low budget filmmaking. Breezy and entertaining, thought not offering much from a dramatic standpoint, it's a remarkable achievement.
The sort of movie which demonstrates a filmmaker's raw talent, as that's literally all Robert Rodriguez had to work with.
