I believe that Hector Lavoe was a genius. Unfortunately the mindless script writers are not. It was unclear how a simple man from Puerto Rico moved to the States and became a genius, where is the plot? It is also unclear how he went from a puff of marijuana into severe heroin addiction.

Marc Anthony succeded in the singing (as expected) and did as much as he could with the script to save a little bit of decency in the movie. Jennifer Lopez was as pathetic as possible, showing just a very fake "tough woman attitude.

" Hector Lavoe is one of the greatest musicians of our time of any kind of music,it is very sad that the people who do not know his story did not get to see it because this movie does not give him credit for the outstanding things he did in his life.
